Metal plates vs. paper in humid apartments
Practical notes from Seoul homes on choosing backup media when summers are wet and drawers are not climate-controlled.
Paper backups in Seoul are not doomed, but they need honest storage. We have audited sheets that curled, bled, or stuck together after a rainy-season leak under a window AC unit.
What we observe
- Paper kept in a closed safe away from exterior walls often remains readable for years.
- Paper in a cardboard box near an exterior window fails sooner.
- Metal plates survive moisture better but still need clear indexing so the household knows which plate matches which offline wallet.
Audit implication
A paper-backup audit is not a sales pitch for metal. It is a condition check. If paper is intact and complete, we document it. If ink is fading, we ask you to rewrite onto fresh media while we observe — you choose paper or metal.
Household decision, not ours
Integrinet does not sell plates or notebooks. We will describe trade-offs and leave the purchase decision with you after the inventory is clear.
